Deja vu

October 29, 2008

That funny little feeling. Love it, hate it. It fills me with this feeling that I believe I can see the future. That everything is planned and I just live like a slave to its routine.

When I was texting Nanda's mum on the train to thank her for the food she made for lunch it hit me. I saw the exact moment about 2 months ago.

Im not sure whether my mind raced forward to the future, or was it my brain thinking what was ahead and formed a mental picture of what was to be.

Deja vu, happening more and more often since 1985.

Attractiveness

I found myself dumstruck.

I was sitting in the train on one of those seats where you face the person in front of you in the middle of the train. This was a slender and tall girl, skinny without much curves. She wore long work pants which accentuated her height and her hair combed back and probably sprayed down with mousse or some other hair product. She wasn't particularly pretty, more plain like Kate Moss. Perhaps it was the non-existant smile or something that did not exude beauty. However I still found myself shied perhaps by her confident aura. I was wondering to myself, what makes her beautiful to my mind? I chanced a few looks and noticed a few things out of the ordinary. The things that made her different to normal women you see everyday. She looked like a cosmetic commercial. A really good one.

Her eyebrows were perfection. Not to thick, not to well drawn to look like a cartoon, but trimmed and groomed to look naturally perfect. The lips, a tone suited to her skin tones well chosen. And the kicker, I think was the lush eyelash curler she wielded with such proficiency.

I never thought Id see a make up commercial in real life. It was good.

Im an artist, but I lack patience

I was trying (for the probably 17th time) to learn Tommy Immanuel's daytripper intro. Ive been trying to get it down since I picked up a guitar 8 years ago. Given I dont play as often as I did, I wouldn't say Ive played guitar for 8 years...but Im good enough to play along with, but not public jam standard...yet.

Anyway, this song is pretty technical, almost like the syncopated piano pieces where the left hand plays almost exactly what the right hand is playing but 2 beats behind. Its such a mind f***. The melody plays on the bass notes while u pluck a beat on the high notes througout the song, its like playing melody and accompanyment with one hand, just as a measure of difficulty.

Anyway Ive gotten some advice from Uncle Steve and actually looked up the tabs and voila! I managed to get it down to a degree. Not perfect yet, but Im happy its sounding like even a shade of what it suppose to sound like...after al this time. I thought my brain incapable. Achievement points!

Its not just some other song, but bragging rights, that I can join the ranks of Roger Wang soon. LOL.

Ego Boost

Nanda compared me and said I measured up well.

The power of Habit

October 07, 2008

Whats the best things I can think of in the last 2 days? These amazing sleeps Ive had, one just last night of just over 8 hours and a 3 hour afternoon nap the day before. It was like my body knew what is was missing, and decided to reward me with an euphoria beyond words upon my awakening. Aaaa.....

What ticks me off...stubbornness without basis, people telling me what to do (when I dont want to do it), and sitting at work with...no work.

My love affair with video games

October 02, 2008

I think the first hand held game i played was this black and white analog army game where u could move left and right and shoot and throw grenades. I was never good at it but I still enjoyed it.

Carlo had a sega genesis and I played when I had the chance. Games like golden axe, sonic, whip rush, etc.) But still I sucked. I dont have the hand eye coordination and patience to master it.

I got my first real console when I was in secondary school. It was a playstation and was cause I loved playing final fantasy VII at Bryant's house. My parent eventually bought me one to my suprise. I seldom to never ask for things, which is kind of good I suppose...I spend less money, but it leaves me a shopping retard. I later got a PS2 which served me very well and still works till today after 7 years I think, and gotta say it was a great buy and countless memories from playing 7 man pro evo on it with cousins, to bringing it to out family trip to play games during family vacation much to Mum's dissaproval.

Fast forward to now, I kind of mostly play Wow at nights for about an hour. I did a /played which tell you the exact amount of time yopu have been on the game and it says 94 days!

Anyway, to sum up just a list of the best games Ive ever played in no particular order.

1. Diablo I and II
2. Monkey Island series
3. Wow
4. Warcraft 3
5. Rock 'n' Roll Racing
6. Golden Axe
7. Metal Gear II,III
8. KOTOR
9.Tie Fighter
10. Street Fighter EX
11. Final Fantasy VII,VIII,X,XII,Tactics
12. Sonic II
13. Columns
14. Zuma
15. Planescape:Torment
16. Icewind Dale I
17. Parasite Eve
18. C&C:red alert
19. Counterstrike
20. Gutiar Hero

100th post

October 01, 2008

Last 2 weeks has been great. Too many things to talk about individually but Id like to ramble on about the most important.

I guess its fetching being the 100th post that I talk about achievements. I completed my degree! Woohoo! Feels awesome that Im finally getting somewhere. Lots more paperwork nowadays and I have checklists everywhere. Health cover..must read up, super this year is losing money, balanced account first time in like 20 years loses money. 4/5 Australians use that super too.

Feel kinda richer (am richer!), but Im controlling myself by not going too extravagant (for the first month at least). Kinda paying off my debts and getting set up. Primarily I now spend very loosely on food, which if I think about it, adds up to too much. Not that Im putting on much weight. Im suppose to be 60kg by end of the year. Lets see, 51-52kg in January-ish. 55kg by beginning October. Gotta speed up the process...heavier weights and less lifts.

I met this great girl. Her name is Nanda. Shes a hairstylist and hails from Indonesia and has been in Australia for 6 years. We've been seeing each other for about 2 weeks now and Im happy. Skeptical at first, but Im taking it all in. Im looking forward to tomorrow.
