Used to raid hardcore in wow and one of our warriors used to spell "FUCOS" across the screen just as we were about to pull a boss. Really had a good laugh. If you still haven't got it yet, its focus spelled wrongly and is kinda oxymoron-ish.
"Hi, my name is Sherlene and I am committed to growing your firm"
Classic.
Basically this post is to remind myself to get fucosed for the year, set up some goals and actually do them. Been pretty lax and taking things a day at a time. One thing at a time. I need an extra day to recoup after going out the whole weekend and not resting after a tiresome week before. Step 1, reach home, shower and go to sleep. Wake up at 5am and eat something and do some exercise. Kgo!

Im an artist, but I lack patience
October 29, 2008
I was trying (for the probably 17th time) to learn Tommy Immanuel's daytripper intro. Ive been trying to get it down since I picked up a guitar 8 years ago. Given I dont play as often as I did, I wouldn't say Ive played guitar for 8 years...but Im good enough to play along with, but not public jam standard...yet.
Anyway, this song is pretty technical, almost like the syncopated piano pieces where the left hand plays almost exactly what the right hand is playing but 2 beats behind. Its such a mind f***. The melody plays on the bass notes while u pluck a beat on the high notes througout the song, its like playing melody and accompanyment with one hand, just as a measure of difficulty.
Anyway Ive gotten some advice from Uncle Steve and actually looked up the tabs and voila! I managed to get it down to a degree. Not perfect yet, but Im happy its sounding like even a shade of what it suppose to sound like...after al this time. I thought my brain incapable. Achievement points!
Its not just some other song, but bragging rights, that I can join the ranks of Roger Wang soon. LOL.

Brisbane Brainstorm
February 19, 2008
7 weeks in Brisbane has been eventful. A taste of something different almost every week and it pushes me, hard. I strive. Spontaneous, getting out of the comfort zone, that sorta thing. 3 more weeks to go here and I know Ive done my best at setting out what I wanted to achieve. Few more big...very big things to accomplish. We shall see.
What Ive achieved: lived in an enviroment Im not used to and mix and mingled and made a fool out of myself. And loved it cause I enjoyed it (most of it) and for doing it. Spoke out of my opinions at work and got along pretty well with 30 odd people in my unit. Oh, and got my contact lenses in! Yay! Reverse parking is easier too.
What I still want to achieve:Need to have that big chat with Paul to arrange something permanent and follow up on our verbal agreement. Need to find some form of exercise during the week, I think Im still 52kg :( , and party hard as always on weekends. The dreaded parallel parking skill...still eludes me.
What Ive learned: If you want something pray, and pursue it. You cant fail if you dont give up. Sometimes Ive got to think about me.
Really looking forward to this concert on Saturday. Its gonna be great! Incubus! Offspring! Plain White T's! Sugacult! Killswitch Engage! to name but a few. WOOOoooo~

Hell and back
February 03, 2008
Conquering fears is never easy. I attest to some fears never being defeated in one's lifetime. This is from a boy who is scared of water getting in his eyes up til today, even now the reflex is so strong. I think I was so scared of shampoo getting in my eyes, that I would not use shampoo if I could help it til I was 5. I still cant open my eyes under water! But I guess with my poor eyesight nowaways, I wouldnt be able to see anything anyway.
Anyway, 40 minutes to get them in.
And 3 hours to get them out. I would like to point out this was a team effort, and would like to thank all those involved, you know who you are. And a special thanks to youtube for the instructional videos and the inspiration and courage to proceed with such a tribulation.
